A Clairton man pleaded guilty in connection with two killings that happened within a year of each other.
Wednesday, 25-year-old Daniel Kelly submitted guilty pleas in the deaths of Dorian Serrano in June 2022 and Nekye Smith in January 2023.
Investigators say Kelly was responsible for Serrano’s death, after the 18-year-old’s body was found buried near the Montour Trail in Jefferson Hills.
Months later, Kelly allegedly shot and killed 20-year-old Smith in the 400 block of Robinson Street in Pitcairn.
Kelly pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, possession of a firearm and abuse of a corpse in Serrano’s case.
He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm while prohibited in Smith’s case.
He will spend at least 10 years in prison.
