HERMITAGE, Pa. — Police say a milk tanker truck driver was choking on a soft drink when he drove off a western Pennsylvania highway and smashed into 23 cars at a dealership.
Police in Hermitage say the driver was sipping Dr. Pepper when he began choking and drove the truck nearly 600 feet through a grassy area before smashing into Montrose Buick-GMC-Cadillac about 4 p.m. Sunday.

The (Sharon) Herald reports the truck rumbled down an embankment before hitting the new cars, including one pushed into the showroom, which damaged another car.
State police found no mechanical problems with the truck and no indication the driver tried to brake.
The driver of the truck owned by Neimeyer Milk Transfer of Cedar Lake, Indiana, has been cited for careless driving.
The company didn't immediately return a call Tuesday.
