EAST McKEESPORT, Pa. — An East McKeesport codes officer has been charged with bribery in an incident from 2009.
According to police, Ronald Bachner offered to drop someone’s violation in exchange for $200 in cash. Police said Bachner called the service a “Borough donation.”
Authorities said they had the victim wear a voice recorder and caught Bachner on tape.
"Mr. Bachner told him it would be $600 and he felt that that was pretty steep. So in the course of the conversation, Bachner suggested the alternative to him," Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Robin Mungo said.
Bachner was charged with bribery in official and political matter, and official oppression.
