Elderly man killed in 2-car crash in Fayette Co.

UNIONTOWN, Pa. — An 85-year-old man died Tuesday in a two-car crash in Fayette County.

According to state police, the unidentified Uniontown man's car was stopped at a stop sign at the crossover of Route 51 and Smith Road around 4:45 p.m.

The driver proceeded through the intersection and was struck on the passenger side by a car driven by 28-year-old Eric Hice, police said.

The elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene, Trooper Jason Hatalsky said.

Hice and several passengers were transported to Uniontown Hospital for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
