While Pushak paid back the money and resigned from the force, charges against him are moving forward.
Pushak’s defense attorney, Thomas Brown, told Channel 11 News that his client loved his job, loved beign an officer and regrets that it ended this way.
“Very tough on a dedicated police officer for over 38 to 39 years without a job and now facing criminal charges,” Brown said.
A pretrial conference in the case is set for July 2.
