UPPER ST. CLAIR, Pa. — A former Upper St. Clair lifeguard, who was charged with corruption of minors last month after being accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old lifeguard, was charged Thursday with the rape of a second lifeguard.
The charges against Michael Kelly, 29, were announced during a preliminary hearing on charges that included involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor and sexual assault.

Prosecutors said Kelly sexually assaulted a woman in a storage room at the Upper St. Clair Community and Recreation Center on two separate occasions during the summer of 2013.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told investigators in December 2012 that when she was dating Kelly, he took out a pocket knife and laughed while he held it to her throat. She told him to stop and he put the knife away, saying, “Can’t you take a joke,” the criminal complaint said.
Several months later, the pair broke up, but both were still working at the pool, where the victim told investigators the sexual assaults happened.
Kelly is being held at the Allegheny County Jail on a combined bond of $300,000.
Upper St. Clair police said they investigated Kelly for sexual assault in 2013 but received no information showing a crime occurred. Now Allegheny County police are reviewing how Upper St. Clair police handled the case.
