PITTSBURGH — Ground was broken Tuesday on the construction site of the new Flats on Fifth multi-family housing development.
The building will have 74 units and will be located on the 1600 block of Fifth Avenue in the Uptown section of Pittsburgh.

The building will cost approximately $10 million and will have amenities including as a conference/business area with a lounge and integral parking specifically designated for tenants.

“You know what’s exciting about it? We’re not tearing down one brick to do it,” Mayor Bill Peduto said.
Construction will begin in May and is expected to have a 12 month construction schedule.
"I see the opportunity of this area as becoming one of the hubs for the redevelopment of Pittsburgh," said Peduto.
Massaro Corporation will serve as the general contractor for the project.
