PITTSBURGH — A group calling itself "Anonymous" posted a YouTube video this weekend claiming that it hacked into the University of Pittsburgh's computer system and obtained students' personal information.
In the video the group said, "We now have obtained access to every student's password, username, email addresses, personal addresses, dorm room information and parental information."
The group has asked the university to apologize to its students and staff for wrongs "Anonymous" claims the university has committed. If the university doesn't issue an apology, the group threatened to release the personal information they claim to have.
Pitt officials released a statement saying, "The university has examined its systems. There is no evidence of any breach."
