PITTSBURGH — The hearing for a man who is accused of shooting and killing a man in Northview Heights in 2014 was delayed Friday after a witness failed to appear in court.
Police said Samuel Mitchell shot 32-year-old Michael Wilson on Penfort Street after an argument went wrong.

Investigators said that it has been difficult to find witnesses willing to testify in this case.
Court officials waited for an hour Friday, but the witness who was expected in court never appeared. The case was continued.
Wilson’s family said that they just want justice to be served and the killings to stop.
Blaine Jones, Mitchell’s attorney, said he and the prosecutor were prepared, and Friday's delay was a surprise. Mitchell will have to wait another month to go before the judge again.
The judge issued a material witness warrant for the person who failed to show up in court.
“A warrant will be issued for this person, and that person will have to sit in jail until the court hearing,” said Jones.
When the case is in court again, surveillance video that investigators say captured the shooting will be available.
Mitchell is also in jail on a gun violation charge.
