PITTSBURGH — Beginning this summer, Highmark Stadium will be about more than just sports.
Officials announced Wednesday that the venue will start hosting concerts, and a big act is already set for June.

Renderings of the stadium show that it can accommodate 9,000 people, with options for adjustments in cases of smaller events.
“This place is special. The view is second to none, and it’s totally convertible. We will be able to have smaller shows with the stage moved up with 3,500 people,” said concert promoter Rich Engler.
The Steve Miller Band will be the first to perform at Highmark Stadium, which is located near Station Square. The concert is set for Sunday, June 14.
