NORTH MAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Lawrence County man is being credited with stopping two burglary suspects in the act last week.
The man told police that he found two burglars inside his Jacobson Road home in North Mahoning Township last week.
The man said one of the suspects tried to run away, but he chased after him in his car and was able to push him into a ditch.
The second suspect tried to drive away, and the man said he was able to force the car into the same ditch. The man then held the suspects until police arrived.
“It doesn’t surprise me that my neighbor would do something like that. In this area, that’s how people protect their homes,” neighbor Ken Dougherty said.
Police said they found a pillowcase inside the home filled with gold coins and the house deed.
The homeowner’s name has not been released. He wasn’t injured during the incident.
