Locals get hands on new iPad 3 in Shadyside

PITTSBURGH — Many people stood in line at the Shadyside Apple store Friday to get the latest iPad, the iPad 3.

Several people told Channel 11’s Brandon Hudson they waited at the store overnight so they could be the first to receive their pre-ordered iPads.

Annie McClemore was one person who was there last night and said, “It wasn’t too bad. A lot of nice people – Apple.”

“People, really nice,” McClemore said. “[They] provided us with umbrellas, pizza, water.”

The Shadyside store opened at 10 a.m.

The iPad 3 features a new processor and the first to connect to mobile 4G networks.
