Major road shut down in Allegheny County after truck crash; person taken to hospital

PLUM, Pa. — A major road is currently shut down in Allegheny County.

PennDOT says that, due to a truck crash, Golden Mile Highway (Route 286) is closed in both directions at the New Texas Road intersection in Plum.

Drivers are told to consider different routes.

An Allegheny County 911 supervisor says the crash was first reported at 9:28 a.m. One person was taken to a hospital from the scene.

According to 511, the estimated reopening time is 1 p.m.

The Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department says the crash involves a tri-axle truck.
