ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Police say a man drove from Butler County all the way to Mississippi to meet a 13-year-old for sex.
Hernando Police officers pulled over 28-year-old Samuel Hugg, saying Hugg had been sending sexual messages to an undercover cop for days.
The PA Attorney General’s office is now involved in the investigation. They raided Hugg’s Mars Township town house.
Hugg worked as a security guard at Eden Christian Academy. The school sent an email to parents saying he’d been employed through an agency and with the district since August 2020 but was immediately let go. Hugg also owned his own photography business, shooting school sports, weddings, senior portraits and models.

“It just makes you sick you wondering what I could have done differently,” model Lauren Voigt told Channel 11. Voigt filed a police report with Pittsburgh Police in June 2020 after a photo shoot with Hugg. She says he brought a gun to the photo shoot, placed it on the counter and touched her inappropriately while taking photos. She said he sent her the images after the shoot.
“Those photos are one of the most traumatic shoots of my life, one of the most traumatic days of my life. I don’t want them. He didn’t care. He wasn’t worried about consent.”
Hernando Police say Hugg fought officers during his arrest and accidentally shot himself. The bullet only grazed his body.
