Man accused of stealing copper from former employer

AMBRIDGE, Pa. — An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of stealing copper from his former employer and writing bad checks.

Ambridge police said Robert Winrick is accused of stealing copper from his former employer, Avelli Construction Corporation on Route 65.

Authorities said that after Winrick quit, the company noticed he had cashed phony checks as if he still was employed.

Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz reported the company told police about $4,500 in copper was missing.

Investigators said they believe Winrick is still in the Beaver County area. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
