CALIFORNIA, Pa. — A man was killed early Friday in an accident along Route 43 in California, Washington County.

The Washington County coroner said 55-year-old Charles Brown, of Brownsville, was traveling southbound when he lost control of his Jeep Cherokee and struck a tree.
It happened at Exit 30 just after 2 a.m.
Investigators said Brown was thrown from the vehicle. He did not appear to be wearing a seat belt.
