Man saves mother from burning Wilkinsburg townhome

PITTSBURGH — A woman was saved by her son from her burning Wilkinsburg home early Monday morning.

Fire officials said the fire started around 3:30 a.m. on Weinman Street.

"I was sleeping. I heard a boom and I didn't know. I'm half a sleeping and I didn't know what I thought it was. The next minute I heard my son say,'Mom get out of the house," said Linda Davis.

No one was hurt but firefighters said one dog was killed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
