McKEESPORT, Pa. — Authorities in McKeesport are looking for one of the men accused of breaking into a home, robbing it and desecrating the victim’s mother’s ashes.
According to police, Dailan Smith, 21, is also a suspect in a recent shooting in McKeesport.
Authorities said Smith and two others broke into a home early Monday morning and ransacked the house for at least 30 minutes.
According to the homeowner, the burglars stole thousands of dollars in electronics, as well as other items.
“They took a PlayStation 3, an Xbox 360, a laptop and an iPad,” the victim said.
The homeowner showed Channel 11’s Timyka Artist surveillance video of the burglary. The man has his own home security system, and it captured the entire incident on camera.
The video shows two of the burglars walking off with a safe and a brand new TV.
Detectives said Smith also has active warrants out for his arrest from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department and the West Mifflin Police Department.
Smith is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
Investigators said Smith is considered armed and very dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
