M&J Wilkow refinances buildings in downtown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Given all that’s happened with the changes from the Covid-19 pandemic and how it has spurred working from home as a societal trend, it would be easy to think that just leasing up an office building in an urban center would be a huge challenge by itself these days.

While that may be true, M&J Wilkow Ltd. Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management Marty Sweeney seems to take more satisfaction, not to mention relief, from being about to refinance his company’s two office buildings in downtown Pittsburgh, 11 Stanwix and Dollar Bank Corporate Center, formerly known as 20 Stanwix.

“One of the hardest things at the moment to do is to get a non-recourse loan on an office building,” said Sweeney, adding the assessment was applicable for office buildings everywhere. “It doesn’t matter where,” he added.
