Motorcyclist passes school bus in Mercer County as kids get off, revs engine, police say

Stoneboro Bus Violation Photos from Pennsylvania State Police show a motorcyclist accused of passing a school bus as kids were exiting in Stoneboro on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.

STONEBORO, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police are asking for help identifying a motorcyclist who they say blew past a school bus as kids were getting off in Mercer County.

It happened around 3:22 p.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Mercer County in Stoneboro.

A black motorcycle got behind a school bus near Dean Road. While kids were exiting, the motorcycle allegedly passed on the bus’ door side, riding on the road’s shoulder.

The bus driver told kids to stop, police say, and the motorcyclist revved the engine and made a rude gesture. He then headed toward Jackson Center.

According to PSP, the motorcycle could be a pre-2024 Harley-Davidson Street Bob with an orange stripe on the gas tank and a Monster logo. The license plate is also too big and could be temporary or fake.

The motorcyclist himself was wearing camo cargo pants and hiking boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call PSP Mercer Station and speak with Trooper Lesnett at 724-748-0044 or PSP Tips Toll Free at 1-800-472-8477.
