ONLY ON 11: Family of Pittsburgh homicide victim asking anyone with info to call police

PITTSBURGH — With no leads to date since Davonte Stevenson’s slaying in January, his family is pleading for anyone with information to come forward.

Stevenson was found at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Manhattan Street in Pittsburgh’s Manchester neighborhood on Jan. 2 with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The 19-year-old was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, becoming the first homicide victim of 2015.

“He wanted to be someone,” said Stevenson’s sister, Shaunta Stevenson.

She told Channel 11 News that her brother had plans to become a truck driver.

“Somebody should have seen something,” she said. “It was broad daylight that day. It was a nice day. It was the hottest day in January.”

Since that day, Shaunta Stevenson said tips on her brother’s killing have gone cold.

Now, Shaunta Stevenson is hoping anyone who saw something the day her brother was gunned down to comes forward and calls police.
