PITTSBURGH — Piatt Cos. is set to get a major boost in its plan to redevelop roughly 15 acres of Ohio riverfront into its mixed-use Esplanade project from the administration of Governor Tom Wolf.
Amid the cascading announcements of new grants for the region and state from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program implemented through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Piatt is in line to receive a $10 million grant through the RACP.
The development firm announced the grant on social media, thanking the Wolf administration for the support.
In the works for a few years now, and like everything else somewhat delayed by the pandemic, Esplanade is expected to total more than 1.2-million-square-feet of development in the Chateau neighborhood of the North Side roughly estimated to cost $475 million to build.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
