DAYTON, OH. — It was a very special day for a Pittsburgh man on Saturday when he graduated from the University of Dayton.
There was no guarantee that Sean Ferguson would be able to walk across the stage during his graduation. That’s because he spent several months in rehab after being struck by lightning on campus last spring, an incident that left him with burns on 35 percent of his body.

Ferguson, 23, returned to campus in August and was able to walk across the stage with 650 of his classmates at commencement on Saturday.
The student was walking home from class in April when he was struck by lightning. Several students nearby rushed to help him and one of them performed CPR.
Ferguson said he was touched by all of the support he got after the incident.
He’ll now return home with a full-time job awaiting him in Pittsburgh.
