PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium announced planned closures through Feb. 26.
On Monday, zoo officials announced that the grounds will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Jan. 14 through Feb. 26. The zoo will maintain normal operations Thursday through Monday.
These closures are for facility improvement construction. Zoo officials say the traditionally slow winter days are an ideal time to complete projects without impacting visitor experience.
Officials say the zoo is preparing for major projects, like a new front entrance and trail.
