Police in Shaler Township continue to investigate after a man ran naked through a neighborhood Monday night.
According to authorities, a 21-year-old man was yelling and knocking on doors along East Littlewood Street wearing nothing but socks.

“I turned around to see if it was an animal and I turned on my flashlight on my phone and it was a completely naked dude who stood up in my yard. I asked him, ‘Buddy, are you OK?’ and he didn’t register at all. He ran into the fence,” witness Jacob Fitzpatrick said.
Neighbors called 911 and when police arrived, they chased the man through several yards before catching up to him. Police used a stun gun during the chase, and somehow, the man ended up sliding down a 40-foot hillside in the 1000 block of Orvis Avenue.
After about 40 minutes, he was brought up the hillside by several dozen firefighters and emergency personnel, and taken to an area hospital by medical helicopter.
“The ravine is a pretty good drop. It drops down to Route 8, almost like going over the cliff on Mt. Washington,” said witness Jim Jones.

Shaler Township police said the man is listed in stable condition. His name has not yet been released, although police said they have been able to identify him.
Authorities said they won’t know if charges will be filed because they haven’t talked to the man. He’s sedated at the hospital.
