SALTSBURG, Pa. — A Saltsburg High School teacher is accused of raping a student, according to the Indiana County District Attorney’s Office.
The district attorney said Todd Deven McCullough sexually assaulted a student last spring.
According to police, the student told investigators that McCullough lured her to a small, private back room and exposed himself.
The student said about a week later he apologized to her, but lured her to the room a second time.
Police said during the second meeting in the room the student was raped.
According to the DA’s Office, the accuser kept the story to herself for a long time before confiding in a friend. That friend convinced the girl to tell the school.
Investigators said McCullough was removed from school Thursday morning by state troopers.
State police told Channel 11’s Joe Holden that based on the pattern of conduct, they believe there could be more victims.
The Blairsville-Satlsburg School District released the following statement Thursday:
"At the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District, we believe that the safety and welfare of our students is of the utmost importance.
"The administration of the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District has conducted an internal investigation of a professional employee of the district and believes the employee has violated the policies of the district as well as the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
