Police confiscate 1,700 stamp bags of heroin, nearly $4K in cash during raid

McKEESPORT, Pa. — Police say they found more than 1,700 stamp bags of heroin during a rain last week in McKeesport.

According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, the raid happened Friday morning at a home on Banker Street.

According to TribLIVE, 26-year-old Malik Short was located in a second-floor master bedroom.

Short, along with a woman and two children who were in the home, were brought to a living room area while police conducted a search of the premises.

According to a police, Short told authorities there was heroin and money in the home that belonged to him.

Police recovered a paper bag with 34 bricks of heroin and seven individual packets of the drug in the master bedroom. In addition, nearly $3,900 in cash was found in the bedroom.

TribLIVE reports Short is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is jailed on $150,000 bail and faces a preliminary hearing is Sept. 28.
