UNIONTOWN, Pa. — Police in Uniontown said a disgruntled Walgreens employee quit his job, stole money from a register and then left behind an "I owe you" note.
Officers in Fayette County said they arrested 26-year-old Matthew Cumberland on Tuesday.
Cumberland is accused of stealing from the Walgreens on North Mount Vernon Avenue on Saturday night.
Investigators said Cumberland was upset because he wanted more hours.
Police said Cumberland is seen on surveillance video nervously pacing around for about 20 minutes before taking $700 from the register.
After leaving the store with the cash police said a note that said, "I quit. This place is a joke anymore. Leave it to weaver, two days a week wtf. IOU," was found.
"Ironically, that night he was in contact with the night manager and he brought some money back. When I picked him up on the warrant tonight I asked him about that. He said he brought most of it back but paid his cellphone bill first," said Lt. Tom Kolencik, Uniontown police.
Cumberland was formally charged and released on his own recognizance.
