Police: ex-boyfriend slit Baldwin woman's throat, left her to die

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa.,None — A man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend was arraigned on murder charges on Tuesday.

Family members of Karissa Kunco, of Baldwin, said they have been waiting for police to charge Jordan Clemons in her death since her body was found.

Clemons is accused killing Kunco earlier this month. Police said Clemons then dumped Kunco's body in a field in Washington County.

"It appears that both the victim and Mr. Clemons had a tumultuous relationship and that they were separated from one another," said Washington County District Attorney Gene Vittone.

The criminal complaint stated that hours before Kunco's body was found, Clemons used her credit card to buy an X-Box video game system at a South Strabane Walmart.

It was Jan. 12 when Kunco's crashed car was found in Cecil Township with blood on the floor and backseat. Hours later workers found her naked body five miles away, covered in leaves.

Investigators said Clemons slit Kunco's throat and left her to die.

"I think it bring a lot of relief to the family to know that the warrants are in place to bring this man to justice," said Baldwin police Chief Michael Scott.

Clemons' defense attorney said it's too early to determine if there is a possibility of a plea bargain.

"This is the first time that I have seen the criminal complaint. I still have to review it with my client. It's way too early in a case of this magnitude to consider a plea bargain," Clemons' attorney Pete Marcoline said.

Investigators said they believe Kunco was killed in Washington County.
