Police: Woman arrested after six hungry children were found living in deplorable conditions

AMBRIDGE, Pa. — A woman was arrested on Tuesday after police found six children living in deplorable conditions in Ambridge.

Police said the children were filthy and in soiled diapers inside an apartment at Crestview Village.

Davina McNeal was watching the children, and two of the children were hers, police said.

"The place was a wreck.  It was filthy.  The kids were living in deplorable conditions," said Lt. Brian Jameson of Ambridge police.

Police said the children told caseworkers they were hungry.  Police said there was nothing in the cupboards.

"There was nothing.  No food at all for the kids to eat.  It's not right," said Jamison.

"No kid should go hungry.  They need to feed and clothe their kids," said a neighbor.

McNeal faces child endangerment charges. The children have been placed with other family members.
