Portion of Washington County road to close for slide repair

SOMERSET TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A section of Route 136 in Washington County is scheduled to close to traffic on Monday, Oct. 5, for slide repair work.

The road closure will affect the stretch of Route 136 located between Sundust Road and Valley View Road in Somerset Township.

Drivers will follow a posted detour using Route 1055 (Brownlee Road), Interstate 70, Route 917 and Route 136.

PennDOT advised drivers traveling through the area to stay alert and obey all posted traffic signs and speed limits.

The road closure and posted detour are scheduled to remain in effect until the end of November.
