CRAFTON, Pa. — Staff members at an elementary school in Crafton raced to cover up a racial slur that was spray-painted on the property early Wednesday.
The word was spray-painted on the steps of Crafton Elementary School sometime after dark Tuesday. It was discovered Wednesday morning by neighbors who contacted Channel 11 News on Facebook.

"That's nauseating. It's horrible. I've never noticed vandalism like that around here before," Lisa Bauer told Channel 11's Steven Fisher.
School employees were alerted to the vandalism when they saw a Channel 11 News crew outside the school. They immediately painted over it, but neighbors were still upset.
“People are people. I don't care what color you are, that's just the way it is," Shandra Sebulak said.
The school workers told Fisher they will completely remove the spray paint from the steps as soon as possible.
