The Swissvale Fire Chief told Channel 11’s Courtney Brennan that a firefighter was down to a may-day situation at one point. He was on the third floor and he ran out of air trying to search. He eventually got out to safety.
Two other firefighters were transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, and a couple others were treated at the scene.
The names and conditions of those firefighters have not been made available.
The chief said there had been a roofing crew doing work on the roof with a torch.
