More than 30 Pennsylvania Turnpike employees have lost their lives while performing their duties, according to officials. Many of those deaths occurred in work zones.
In 2014 there were 150 crashes in Turnpike work zones.
As part of the new work zone enforcement initiative, state troopers will crack down on speeding by running radar from inside construction vehicles. If caught, drivers could face a $200 fine and a 15-day license suspension.
