Steelers officially retire Joe Greene's jersey

PITTSBURGH — During a Sunday Night Football pregame presentation at Heinz Field, former Steeler and Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Greene's No. 75 was officially retired.

The Steelers announced the retirement of the legendary defensive tackle's jersey in July, making "Mean Joe Greene" only the second player to have a number retired by the team. Ernie Stautner, No. 70, was the first.

Sunday's presentation was held in the FedEx Great Hall.

Greene, who was Chuck Noll's first draft pick, played for the Steelers from 1969 through 1981. He obtained four Super Bowl rings with the team during that time.
