Victim sues Pittsburgh schools over school cop's sex abuse

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A man sexually abused by a former Pittsburgh Public Schools police officer now serving 32 to 64 years in prison has sued the district for not stopping it.

The federal lawsuit filed Wednesday concerns 46-year-old Robert Lellock, who was convicted and sentenced in 2013 for molesting the plaintiff and three other boys in the late 1990s at a middle school.

The 29-year-old plaintiff says Lellock took him out of class more than two dozen times during the 1998-99 school year to molest him in a janitor's closet. The plaintiff says he was expelled in 1999 for bringing a knife to school — something he did because he feared Lellock.

The lawsuit says it's "unbelievable and conscience shocking" that school officials never questioned Lellock's odd habit of pulling boys out of class.
