North Huntingdon Township celebrates 250th anniversary

NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — North Huntingdon Township is celebrating its 250th anniversary.

To celebrate, the township is hosting numerous events from April to December.

Festivities kicked off Thursday at the North Huntingdon Townhouse at 11 a.m.

Local and regional dignitaries were invited to share proclamations and raise a special flat.

The event featured a flyover, drum roll and a singing performance.

The township also uncovered a time capsule that was buried 50 years ago.

Attendees enjoyed birthday refreshments before the event concluded.
