NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — A Westmoreland County woman is facing charges after police said she beat a male teenager dozens of times with a belt.
According to the criminal complaint, several teens were wrestling at Patricia Cullen’s New Kensington home. The complaint said part of the game involved tying up 19-year-old Giovanny Escribano.
“I got tied up while we were wrestling with duct tape,” Escribano said outside the Magistrate Court on Thursday.
According to the complaint, Escribano said he was sprayed in the face with white baby powder, and he spit it out. He said Cullen thought he spit on her and got mad.
“The only thing I could do was cover my face. I couldn’t stand up or fight back,” Escribano said.
Escribano told authorities that he couldn’t defend himself while Cullen beat him 30 to 40 times with a belt.
“It was horrible. The pain was just horrible,” Escribano said.
Authorities said Cullen claimed she blacked out and doesn’t remember hitting Escribano, but she remembers people yelling for her to stop.
She is facing a charge of assault. Her formal arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 27.
