MONONGAHELA, Pa. — A man died at a Washington County hospital after a house fire in Monongahela early Sunday morning.
Channel 11's Lori Houy learned that the man, James Huffstickler, 67, lived in the Lawton Street home with his 95-year-old mother. She was able to get out on her own, but he became trapped on the second floor.

According to the Coroner's Office, Huffstickler called 911 to report the fire. When firefighters arrived, he was removed from the second floor and taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"He called in and said that there was a fire downstairs, and the next thing I know, he was gone," said Chad DeSantis, a neighbor and volunteer firefighter who tried to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire, which started after 3 a.m., is under investigation.
