• Woman in ‘extremely intoxicated state' pulled over with child in car, police say

GREENSBURG, Pa. - A woman is facing multiple charges after police said she was driving with a 7-year-old girl in the car while extremely intoxicated.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Steve Limani, an officer was dispatched to the Gabriel Brothers parking lot in Hempfield Township Friday around 9:30 p.m. for the report of a woman passed out at the wheel of her car with a child inside.

Upon the officer’s arrival, Limani said the vehicle began to drive away. A traffic stop was initiated and the operator of the vehicle, 35-year-old Kelley Lynn Fry, was found to be in an extremely intoxicated state, Limani said.

Fry was taken into custody for DUI and other offenses after she refused to submit to chemical testing for DUI purposes. She’s also facing a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

Limani told Channel 11’s Joe Holden that Fry wasn’t just a danger to the young child, but everyone else on the road.
