Woman involved in crash with PennDOT truck taken to hospital

NEW STANTON, Pa. — A woman was hospitalized Monday morning after a crash involving a PennDOT truck in New Stanton.

Authorities said the truck was clearing the berm on Route 119 near the Pennsylvania Turnpike when it crossed into the path of 50-year-old Nancy Heinbaugh’s Honda CRV.

Investigators said Heinbaugh, of Connellsville, crashed into the side of the salt truck and slid underneath it.

Hainbaugh was taken to Forbes Hospital, and her condition hasn’t been released.

The crash remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, roads in Butler County were also challenging to navigate Monday morning.

Channel 11's Jennifer Tomazic (@JenniferTomazic) reported routes 19 and 228 were both covered with snow for a good part of the morning.
