INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. — A man accused of firing shots Thursday near Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s campus was arrested at a nearby Walmart, police said.
Authorities said the man opened fire at the Westgate Terrace Apartments, an off-campus apartment building that’s a block away from IUP’s campus.
A spokeswoman for IUP said the apartment complex is not commonly used by students, but some may live there. No one was injured in the shooting.
Police said that a short time later, the alleged shooter was located at a Walmart near the university.
The shooting remains under investigation, state police said.
