PITTSBURGH — A man is accused of posing as a Drug Enforcement Administration agent while he was armed with a shotgun Tuesday in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood.
Police said Gerald Underwood went into Denise and Earl's bar looking for an employee. Witnesses described him as being belligerent before he got into an altercation with a customer and was thrown out. %

Underwood then went to his car and got a sawed-off shotgun, according to a criminal complaint.
The bar’s bouncer told investigators that “when Underwood got to the intersection of Neuman Way and Frankstown Avenue, he began screaming that he was a ‘Blood’ and a ‘Gangsta’ and observed Underwood fire a shot in the air directly across the street from him,” the complaint said.
When police arrived, police said Underwood identified himself as a DEA agent. He was wearing a security enforcement badge around his neck and a white T-shirt with “DEA” in black writing.
Court records showed that Underwood has faced robbery, drug and weapons charges over the last several years.
In connection with Tuesday’s incident, charges against Underwood include carrying a firearm without a license, impersonating a public servant and recklessly endangering another person.
