GLENSHAW, Pa.,None — Police from Indiana Township responded to the scene after the burglars tripped the alarm at the Middle Road Inn early Tuesday morning.
The burglars then pried open a metal door and ripped the alarm panel out of the wall, police said.
Bob Fezza's daughter owns the inn. He took Channel 11 News inside the establishment to show off this historic building and the damage done to it.
The cash register was destroyed during the robbery, but there was no cash in it to steal, authorities said.
The thieves also broke into the gaming machines, getting away with about $10, the owners estimate.
Fezza said his daughter is always reaching out to people who need help in the community and if the burglars needed it, they could have just asked.
"We know just about everybody and hopefully it's not a customer," said Fezza.
Police said one of the burglars left a key piece of evidence behind, but they're not saying what that is. They said it should help them identify a suspect in the case.
