HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Not something you see every day: a Humvee with giant parachutes drifting down into a neighborhood.
It happened in Harnett County, North Carolina Wednesday. The vehicle, along with a heavy drop platform, landed in a wooded area.
A military C-17 cargo plane was on an air drop training mission when it accidentally dropped the cargo too early, missing the target drop zone.

It certainly had residents scratching their heads.
"Thought maybe it was something from outer space, hahaha, but it didn't hit anybody so everybody was kinda safe and we were very glad of that," neighbor James Grant told WNCN.
No one was hurt.
The cargo plane took off and returned from Fort Bragg. All three parachutes on the Humvee successfully opened. A military spokesperson said it's too early to tell if the Humvee was damaged.
