DENVER, COLORADO — A police officer in Colorado had a scary moment on patrol this morning. The earth opened up and swallowed him.

The sergeant was driving in his police SUV when he entered the intersection and the ground caved in. The sinkhole is 10-15 feet deep. The officer managed to scramble out onto the roof of the truck and out of the hole. He was not hurt but the truck is a complete loss.
