AMBRIDGE, Pa.,None — The Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce hosted two sold out VIP movie premiere parties for "One for the Money," starring Katherine Heigl. The movie was filmed in Ambridge and surrounding Pittsburgh locations.
The sold out events were held on Jan. 27 and 28 of at 6:30 p.m. at the Ambridge Theater. Both events sold out in a matter of hours and more than 122 guests attended each night.
The parties took place in a store utilized as the "bail bonds office" during the filming of "One for the Money." Guests then headed across the street to the Ambridge Family Theater, also used in the filming, where they walked the red carpet and took photos before previewing the movie.
"This is a great chance for the Ambridge community to shine and for so many who normally do not travel to the area and enjoy what we have to offer, the chance to see what all this great community has. I am very excited, just as the guests that call seem to be also. It is not every day you get to see a red carpet in Ambridge, but this weekend will be one of those days," said Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeremy Angus.
Guests dressed in everything from character costumes from the movie to formal ball gowns for the walks on the red carpet. An after party was held at Rooks East Side Saloon on Friday.
The pre-movie reception was sponsored by the Marleen Verigood Family of Ambridge, while the Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the premiere.
