PITTSBURGH, Pa.,None — A church in Overbrook was the target of an arson attempt for the second time on Tuesday.
Investigators said for the second time in as many weeks someone started a fire outside of Saint Norbert Church.
"I don't want anybody to get hurt. I don't want this beautiful church to burn down. It makes me a little angry this is happening," said Father Mark Thomas.
Thomas said someone set papers on fire in a bucket behind the church, causing the brick exterior of the church to become charred.
"The other one was right here. You can see where it blackened the base of the brick. This was the worst of it," said Thomas. "Somebody is trying to burn a church. I mean, that's pretty low especially around Christmas. I felt kind of angry. Why would someone want to vandalize and do something like this?"
The Pittsburgh arson squad continues to investigate.
