The team’s 50-year celebration will begin on August 27-28 at Penguins Fan Fest. Players, coaches and alumni will be on hand, engaging with fans.

“We’re excited to honor our history,” said David Morehouse, President and CEO of the Penguins. “We think our fans will enjoy the many activities that we have planned. We will have more announcements related to the anniversary heading into next season.”

The Penguins aren’t the only NHL franchise celebrating 50 years in 2016-17. The Philadelphia Fliers, Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues are also celebrating their golden year.

The new anniversary logo will feature the skating penguin along with the franchise’s three Stanley Cup trophies.
