Pittsburgh Port Authority Driver Cleared In Fondling Case

Anthony Leffler

PITTSBURGH,None — A judge has acquitted a Port Authority of Allegheny County bus driver who was fired for allegedly fondling a boy who sat on the driver's lap while he piloted a nearly empty bus on the way to a transit garage.

Anthony Leffler, 52, of Pittsburgh, will now try to get his job back.

County police charged Leffler after another employee on the bus reported the July 3 incident as a possible safety violation and police reviewed a bus surveillance tape.

County Judge David Cashman on Tuesday found Leffler not guilty of all four charges he faced: indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and reckless endangerment.

Police said the boy in question was under 13.
